Auralee’s Fall 2026 menswear collection unfolded with a quiet radiance that felt true to Ryota Iwai’s belief that winter carries its own gentle charm. Shown in a softly lit hall at the Musée de l’Homme on a drizzly evening, the presentation opened with a sense of calm that mirrored the designer’s appreciation for crisp air, muted daylight, and the subtle warmth that winter can offer. Rather than leaning into heaviness, Iwai treated the season as an invitation to explore lightness through fabric, movement, and touch.
The collection began with a camel trench that revealed itself to be cashmere corduroy, a clever twist that set the tone for the techniques ahead. Leather jackets appeared impossibly thin and buoyant, holding a hint of down at the back that gave them a gentle lift. Silhouettes remained relaxed yet purposeful, offering just enough experimentation to feel new while staying grounded in Auralee’s serene sensibility. Each look carried an ease that floated across the runway.
Color and texture guided the narrative. Mauve trousers with a velvety sheen, electric blue corduroy, mochi soft shearling, translucent silk shirting, and marled wools created a spectrum that felt both soothing and quietly indulgent. Even the simplest shapes held an emotional softness that made the collection feel welcoming.
As the show settled into deeper tones, the mood grew contemplative. Auralee continues to succeed by remaining sincere rather than monumental. Iwai’s humility and sensitivity shaped a collection that felt natural, warm, and enduring, offering winter a softer lens through which to be seen.
