Proenza Schouler’s Fall 2026 collection marked a significant new chapter. It was the first season shaped entirely by Rachel Scott, who stepped into the role with an energy that felt both revitalizing and deeply aligned with the brand’s spirit, following the departure of founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Known for the chic craft of her own label, Diotima, Scott brought a human touch to the runway, one that emphasized feeling over perfection. Her debut suggested a woman who lives fully in her clothes, embracing the beauty of both polish and imperfection.

The collection reflected this idea with pieces that felt intentional yet relaxed. Blazers sat slightly off kilter, as if adjusted on the move. Draping fell in soft, natural lines, and fabrics carried a gently rumpled texture that added warmth and realism. Some buttons were fastened neatly while others were left undone, creating a quiet tension that made each look feel alive. Scott’s intuitive sense of proportion shaped everything, allowing tailoring and fluid pieces to meet in a harmonious middle.

Color played an important role. Rich reds, deep teals, and softened neutrals moved alongside subtle prints and handcrafted details that added depth without overwhelming the silhouette. There was a real sense of tactility in the weaving and fringe work, a reminder of Scott’s roots in artisanship.

Fall 2026 felt like a thoughtful and confident first chapter. Scott offered a vision of Proenza Schouler that is modern, warm, and grounded in real life, giving the brand a renewed sense of clarity and heart.
