Nina Park is preparing her own beauty brand, and we’re already excited. Here’s what we know so far.
If you have ever saved a photo of Zoë Kravitz or Emma Stone for makeup inspiration, you may already be familiar with Nina Park’s work. She has a way of making makeup look soft and easy, especially around the lips, where gently blended colour creates fullness without an obvious outline. Now, that approach could be coming to our makeup bags. It has been reported that Park is preparing to launch her own beauty brand, with arecent trademark application covering cosmetics, makeup brushes, and cosmetic and toiletry bags. There is also a separate filing for “Lipshadow,” an intriguing detail for anyone who has tried to recreate her signature lip. These filings offer clues about what she is developing, though they do not establish a release date or a finished product lineup.
What makes this interesting is how clearly Park’s work expresses a particular sense of style. The lips are softly rounded, the colour feels blended into the face, and everything looks chic without looking too perfect. The popularity of the “Nina Park lip” has been traced to her blurred approach to the Cupid’s bow, which softens the upper lip rather than sharply defining it. But her eye goes beyond one technique. Park studied painting before training in makeup in Paris, then worked under Peter Philips and Diane Kendal. On her website, she describes an approach rooted in the face’s natural structure and shadows, enhancing features rather than concealing them. That background makes sense when you look at her work. You notice the person first, then start wondering how she got the colour and shape so right.
The question now is how she will make that approach easier to achieve at home. According to a recent interview, Park wants to develop products she has wished existed in her own kit, with an interest in formulas that serve more than one purpose, softly tinted lips, lightweight eye makeup and complexion enhancers. That gives us a little more to look forward to, and we’re excited to see how her ideas come together. We’re hoping for textures that blend beautifully, colours that are easy to layer, and brushes that make her signature soft finish feel achievable at home. The product details are still to come, but Park already has such a clear eye for what makes makeup look chic. Getting to experience that through formulas and tools of her own is something we’ll happily make room in our makeup bags for.
