Khaite Brought its signature quiet luxury to Los Angeles with a new boutique opened on Melrose Place. The store, set in a historic ivy-clad building, marks the brand’s fifth U.S. location and a striking new chapter in its carefully curated expansion.
Modern luxury brand Khaite has officially opened its latest boutique in Los Angeles, bringing its distinctive vision of quiet luxury to the heart of Melrose Place. The new store is located at 8409 Melrose Avenue in a historic ivy-covered building once home to Marc Jacobs and later the Gucci Salon, offering a storied backdrop for Khaite’s refined and architectural aesthetic.
This marks Khaite’s fifth store in the United States, joining boutiques in Soho, Highland Park Village in Dallas, Madison Avenue in New York, and Costa Mesa at South Coast Plaza. The Los Angeles opening is a significant step in the brand’s carefully paced expansion, part of its plan to reach twelve stores by 2030. Each location is conceived as a unique architectural statement, and the Melrose Place boutique continues this narrative with a design that merges the brand’s DNA with the luminous essence of Los Angeles.
Khaite’s growth has been fueled by thoughtful strategy and strong investment. Backed first by Assembled Brands and later by private equity firm Stripes, which invested in the company in 2023, the brand has evolved into one of the most compelling names in American fashion. Catherine Holstein, the 2022 CFDA Women’s Wear Designer of the Year, continues to guide Khaite with a vision of modern luxury that resonates with a global audience seeking timeless yet contemporary pieces.
The boutiques themselves have become an extension of that vision. The Soho location is defined by blackened steel and prefabricated concrete, Madison Avenue incorporates tatami-inspired elements, and Costa Mesa embraces sculptural asymmetry. The Los Angeles store, designed by Holstein’s husband and architect Griffin Frazen, features expansive windows, sliding glass screens, custom vitrines, and surfaces that respond to shifting daylight. The result is a space that embodies both the minimalism at the heart of Khaite and the natural luminosity of Los Angeles.
By opening on Melrose Place, Khaite joins one of the city’s most exclusive retail enclaves. Surrounded by labels such as A.P.C., Isabel Marant, Balmain, and Chloé, the boutique cements Los Angeles as a vital part of the brand’s evolving story and strengthens the neighborhood’s role as a destination for modern luxury.
More than a new retail address, Khaite’s Los Angeles boutique is an invitation to step into the brand’s world and experience its philosophy through space, light, and craftsmanship. The new store is now open at 8409 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles.
