Chanel’s Resort 2027 collection made a joyful statement on the sandy shores of Biarritz, the seaside town where Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel first opened her couture atelier more than a century ago. Creative director Matthieu Blazy drew directly on this history, using the coastal setting and the house’s legacy as a starting point for a collection that felt both celebratory and wearable. The runway was set with a beige carpet made to evokin sand underfoot, a perfect backdrop for the clothes and accessories that followed.

The collection played with seaside imagery and traditional Chanel codes in fresh ways. Seashell earrings, coral and starfish‑inspired braiding, and starfish fringes appeared alongside beach umbrella‑like skirts and striped‑towel suits that felt casual yet elegant. Blazy reinterpreted the iconic 1926 little black dress, transforming its historic bow into a clutch and pairing it with loafers and pronounced double Cs for a modern twist on a timeless look. This season also marked a shift in how the Chanel logo was used, subtly woven into geometric prints, foulard patterns, and tailoring details without ever feeling heavy handed.

Playful elements gave the show a relaxed charm. Mer‑maid‑inspired gowns and silk scarf dresses brought lightness, while oversized straw baskets and textile innovations added texture and seaside warmth. Even the footwear sparked conversation, with whimsical half‑shoes and sandal concepts that pushed the idea of resort dressing into new territory.

Resort 2027 felt like Chanel returning to its roots with open arms, mixing heritage and modern energy in equal measure. The collection offered a wardrobe that was both joyful and grounded, reflecting Blazy’s ability to make classic codes feel fresh and relevant to today’s world.
